Can’t stop listening, wish the chorus went on longer.

This song is a love letter to classic American gothic literature, as it should be, being a part of the soundtrack to a new Wurthering Heights film, but isolated it is still incredibly beautiful. I’m not familiar with John Cale, just Charlie. But the spoken word along with the building and haunting strings to Charlie’s strong distorted vocals work very well. Not to even mention the music video. I think sometimes a lot of pop fans want a bop, and that’s fine. This isn’t it. Or many just simply aren’t able to connect with these themes this way (which I hope they don’t.) But it’s certainly one of my favorites. Please make more. 💕
